Missouri Lions Eye Mission Foundation was established in February 2018 as a public benefit corporation. The designation is made solely for the purposes of Section 355.096.2 (2) of the Missouri Nonprofit Corporation Act. IRS has recognized the corporation as a qualified 501(c)3 corporation.

The purpose of the MLEMF (Missouri Lions Eye Mission Foundation) is to provide financial and in-kind assistance for medical care, treatment and surgery of eye diseases and vision problems of all kinds for indigent persons or support animals around the world; to educate indigent and needy persons on prper eye care; to promote healthy eyes and protection of vision; to work with and assist community health organizations and physicians; to arrange mission trips and community activities to promote knowledge of eye health and provide necessary eye care, surgery and treatment of indigent persons or support animals; to provide eye glasses to individuals around  the world unable to afford their own; to organize, conduct and participate in fund raising campagins and related endeavors of all kinds.
