SUPPORT US

We can use your help! Lion volunteers pay their own expenses to and from host Mexico, Panama or wherever the mission might be located. Once in country the local Lions cover transportation, lodging and meals. Incidentals, sight seeing and extra days are also covered by the volunteer Lions.

Doctors are compensated with a small stipend of $500. In most cases they are sole proprietors and must close their offices while on the mission trip. They also cover their expense just like the volunteer Lions.

Each mission has a lead doctor who has been on several missions and coordinates all of the other doctors and volunteers. We pay that doctors air fare but do not give a stipend.

The length of the mission and the number of people expected to be served determines the cost to the Foundation. A mission of only four days, two mission days will normally have four or five doctors and eight to ten volunteer techs. Stipends and one air fare can be $2,500-$3,000. An eight day mission to say panama with four days of mission could have six to eight doctors and twelve or more volunteer techs. This mission could cost as much as $5,000.

The only source of income we have is donations. Currently M2, M3 and a few Lions clubs from those districts have been generously supporting the Foundation. We need more to step up and help if we are to continue serving those in need.

We are a 501 (c)3 and if your company has matching grants we can supply any information they need.
